The Maids has three goals in response to the Coronavirus Pandemic
- Contribute to the community effort to slow the spread of the virus.
- Ensure healthy and safety of our staff and clients.
- Ensure long-term health and continuity of our business.
TEMPORARY PAUSE IN SERVICE
To this end we have temporarily paused our service. As of now we intend to reopen Monday, April 27 and return to normal cleaning schedules. Our teams will be motivated, equipped, and ready to clean, sanitize and disinfect your home. In the interim, we will be monitoring cleaning requests, responding to messages, and replying to emails on a limited basis. As always, we encourage you to reach out with any questions, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate this unprecedented situation.
WHEN WE RESUME YOUR CLEANING SERVICES
Below are some of the ways we help ensure a healthy environment for you and our teams:
- In your home, as part of our regular clean, your team sanitizes and disinfects bathroom surfaces, and other commonly touched hard surfaces and areas in your home with our EPA registered disinfectant.
- Our teams are instructed to wear disposable shoe covers and gloves while in your home.
- All cleaning cloths are switched out between homes (each team carries over 100 freshly cleaned cloths) and laundered each night.
- Our vacuums and vacuum parts and cleaning tools are switched out or disinfected between homes and each night.
- Our teams use antibacterial hand sanitizer between homes, and carry liquid soap with them.
- Our office is following proper guidelines by the World Health Organization (WHO) and CDC on workplace preparedness and employee safety, including ensuring a clean and hygienic workplace, disinfecting office surfaces vigilantly, regular training on topics like on proper hand washing and safety information.
- We stagger our schedules so that teams depart and arrive at different times of the day.
- We do not permit anyone to report to work who has been ill or exposed to anyone who has been sick
- We ask all our clients to inform us if they have been sick or traveled recently.
- We will not clean a home where someone has had exposure to COVID-19, and would refer this client to a remediation company
- We are stocked up on cleaning products, new tools and equipment. Our teams are trained to take our best practices for cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting to new heights. We will be ready when we resume service.
WE ARE DEEMED AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE
specifically in the North Carolina Stay at Home Orders
The State of North Carolina (including Wake, Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties) has included in the definition of essential services:
15. Critical Trades. Building and construction tradesmen and tradeswomen, and other trades, including but not limited to, plumbers, electricians, cleaning and janitorial staff for commercial and government properties, security staff, operating engineers, HVAC, painting, cleaning services, moving and relocation services, landscaping and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences and COVID-19 Essential Businesses and Operations. This includes organizations that represent employees.
